Texas trip ’24

Busy trip visiting family and trying to survive San Antonio heat and humidity in August! Du & Cato had breakfast with Tran Grandparents and Uncle Dee, and then we met up with Dixon Grandparents and Uncle Colby in Canyon Lake. Activities included Guadalupe River State Park, Ben Tedder wedding, Natural Bridge Caverns & Little Tykes rope course, visiting with Jennifer Clay & Garret, river boat ride in San Antonio, and wrapped up with toddler corn hole at the Denver airport.

Camping in Vedauwoo, WY

Well, there are beautiful places in Wyoming, but the weather is still true to reputation… intense hail storm Sat afternoon, rain and wind half the night, then a breezy Sun morning. It was actually pretty lovely at Curt Gowdy State Park on Sunday morning.

Triple turned Double Bypass Ride

It was a long, hard, hot ride from Evergreen to Copper Mountain…88 miles, 9,655 feet of elevation gain! Du decided to call it early instead of finishing in the dark.

Sunday morning in Vail included walking around Lionshead Village while the car charged and Uncle Steve introducing Cato to bacon and cinnamon rolls 😋🤦‍♀️

Mother’s Day Camping

To celebrate, we enjoyed a lovely family overnight camp out to Lost Lakes in the Red Feather Lakes area. It felt like Cato’s first “real” camping trip since he’s finally old enough to really explore. Per usual, Jasper had a blast running his heart out, chasing everything that moved.

Big Brew Day

The first Saturday in May is Big Brew Day to celebrate National Homebrewers Day. We stared with a chilly morning, but then the day warmed up nicely. The smoked ribs were a hit for lunch and after brewing, we migrated to Zwei Brewery (Cato had fun learning about chalk and dancing to the band).
