Board Game Day

It was a fun afternoon playing board games with friends! Istanbul did not disappoint (we actually did two rounds with different players). Du cooked some delicious BBQ for dinner (Jasper approved!) and Cato had fun getting to play with Quang. When I announced “Bed time!” Cato crawled under the table to sleep with Jasper 🥰

Picking Olallieberries at Avila Barn

Hudson and Cato had a blast feeding lettuce to all the animals, playing on the old tractor, and then picking berries. The very nice but out-of-touch lady at the farm stand expected us to pick berries with 2 year olds and NOT let them eat any in the process… definitely a losing battle, lol 🤣

Fun-filled Weekend

We kicked off the weekend with a birthday party (Sierra in our Parent Participation class turned 3 yrs old!) and then headed north to Monterey to visit family. Had a lovely dinner w Auntie Lucy at Hulas Saturday evening and then a picnic breakfast at Dennis the Menace Park with Uncle Dai and Rick. We even had some small world run-ins with a good friend from high school and the Neuberts! The weather was as perfect as it gets 😃

Morning Hike at Three Bridges

Such a beautiful trail and cooling off in the creek afterward was a huge bonus! Even getting an early start, it warmed up fast, but Cato was a trooper (he only asked for a short ride, lol). Cato wanted us all to pant with Jasper in a picture.

Happy Father’s Day!

We had a laid-back morning exploring in the riverbed (Jasper was chasing everything that moved and came home exhausted) and then a fun filled afternoon at The Ravine Waterpark with the grandparents! The Dad’s got in FREE and Cato had a blast running laps to go down the slides (once he figured out the program).

Eventful Morning…

The other morning was quite the full morning! We started with Mom getting a blood draw, but Cato hoped up in the chair like he owned the place. Then, at the grandparents, Jasper treed a raccoon! (If dogs could only climb trees…). While the adults were distracted talking to the contractor, Cato escaped to ride his car down the driveway… and now Cato has his first experience with road rash. To cheer Cato up, Larry let us drive the Bobcat!! Then, when we tried to head home for a much needed nap, the Tacoma had a dead battery (and, naturally, it wasn’t straightforward to jump-start it). Soooo ready for a nap…I think Jasper was still dreaming about that raccoon during his nap 😴 😂

Camping at The Indians

It was a hot one, but the creek play did not disappoint, and exploring at Wagon Caves was as fun as ever!

Camp Sky Summer Kick-Off

Fun family outing at Sculpterra winery to celebrate the beginning of summer with the Camp Sky group. In true  North County fashion, we were glad to start early at 10 am, then escape the heat to head home before noon, lol. One of the moms brought lots of chilled melon to share, and it was a huge hit!
