Exploring in the Salinas Riverbed

Another lovely outing wandering around the riverbed. The water crossing was short on rocks, so Cato tried throwing sticks (harder). Jasper got to chase squirrels and birds to his hearts content. The trail is definitely overgrown with vegetation, so there was some brush wacking involved

Parent Participation Class

We’ve been having lots of fun with our weekly outing to school (SLO Adult School). Today, the playground was extra fun with learning to hitch a ride and helping mow the lawn!

Novato Trip for Zihla’s 40th Bday

Great weekend visiting and catching up with old friends. Cato was a trooper on the drive and had a blast riding his bike around and playing with the other kids. We also discovered that Zihla’s brother, Derek, is twins with Stephanie’s husband, Keven.

Bike riding on single track dirt for the first time!! Feeling stoked 🙂
Who says you need water to go for a boat ride??

Reservoir Canyon Hike with Oaks 2 Oceans group

Lots of water and great views! Cato fell into the waterfall pool before we even started the hike, so he was already in his second outfit and came home in a diaper because I didn’t want poison oak covered clothes in the carseat 😂

1st Camping Trip in CA

Great weekend getting reaquainted with the area. Found a camping spot right next to a creek (with lots of rocks for Cato to throw!) near La Panza Campground in Los Padres NF and hiked up to the top of Castle Craggs in Machesna Wilderness (even found a little bit of tech work for the trucks). It was a little wet in the morning but not too bad for breakfast burritos!

Feels like summer already!

We’re only 6 days into Spring, and we’ve already had two lovely afternoons playing in the water! (Salinas river bed and San Luis Creek)

Fun filled Spring Weekend

The weekend kicked off with hosting a Game Day on Saturday, and then Sunday, we checked out a new playground (Sta Margarita) and enjoyed a glass of wine (with lots of bubbles and chickens for Cato) at Dark Star Winery

Social Hour at Kennedy

Cato has really enjoyed getting to socialize in Kidz Club at the gym.

Snack time with Delvey, Rylan, Malichi, and Luke (Cherrios always taste better as a group!).
Bubbles!! Chasing bubbles with Cash and James (Parent tip: Hang a battery operated bubble machine on the wall, turn it on, and walk away!)
Playing outside in the yard never gets old…no matter how many laps you make with the shopping cart/popper/car!

Family Hike up Pine Mountain

Took it slow and easy, but everyone made it to the top! (Even mostly under their own power!) Cato led the way most of the time and wanted to pick the direction at all trail junctions.

Bob Jones bike trail with Uncle Colby

Cato is still getting used to the bike, but had a lot of fun practicing (until he decided that he’d rather climb a rocky mountain!). It was a little wet out with scattered rain showers and sun, but once Cato got used to the feel of the rain tickling his head through the helmet, he decided the puddles were totally worth it!
